Appropriate <br /> ' Government Personnel will be notified as soon as possible in the event of a spill. <br /> 9.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br /> 9.1 Pre-Entry Requirements <br /> ' During mobilization, the HSO will make a reconnaissance of the on-site excavation areas. <br /> After this, the HSO will call a meeting with KROEKER and any subcontractor personnel. <br /> ' Site-specific safety procedures, data obtained from the site reconnaissance and <br /> appropriate safety procedures/protocols that have been defined prior to mobilization will <br /> be covered by the HSO. Prior to each new field activity, the safety procedures will be <br /> reviewed by the HSO with the site personnel. The HSO will be available to address <br /> unforeseen circumstances and to implement appropriate changes to the safety plan. <br />' 9.2 Responsibilities <br /> In the event of an emergency situation, the individual who first witnesses the situation <br />' will sound the alarm. The alarm will either be verbal or one of the hand signals described <br /> in Section 7.2 of this HASP. Once the alarm has been given, the HSO will be responsible <br /> for implementing the requirements of this plan. If the HSO is not available, the FS or PM <br />' will be responsible for the implementation of the plan. <br /> 9.3 Waste Specific Information <br /> A summary of emergency medical information for known substances on site are provided <br /> in the table below. <br /> SUBSTANCE: Various Organic and Inorganic Chemicals <br /> EXPOSURE SYMPTOMS: Eye, skin and throat irritation (if inhaled, will cause <br /> dizziness, headache, difficult breathing or loss of <br />' consciousness). <br /> FIRST AID: Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. <br />' Eyes: Hold Eyelids open and flush with large amounts of <br /> water. <br /> Skin: Flush affected area with large amount of water and <br />' wash with soap and water. <br /> Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention. <br />' 14 <br />
