0 0
. vegetation is damaged by negligence and is not salvageable, it will be replaced with
nursery grown species of the equal size at the expense of CKY.
D2.3.3 Cultural And Historical Resources
In the event that skeletons or artifacts are found during the tank removal activities,
the COR will be notified in writing, specifying location and nature of discovery.
Work will not resume until authorized by the COR.
D2.4 Water Resources
Runon and runoff generally occur during and immediately after rains, resulting in
unsafe working conditions and potential spread of contamination. CKY will comply
with all federal and State stormwater management regulations, including, but not
limited to, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program
requirements.
If rain is anticipated, potential run-on and run-off will be diverted by surface grading,
trenching, diking, or use of sandbags.
Exposure of hazardous waste and contaminated soil stored on site to rain-water will
be kept to a minimum. Removed tank, piping, appurtenances, containerized
• liquids, and soil will be placed on and covered securely with visqueen (heavy duty
plastic sheathing). Rain-water that is accumulated in the excavation will be
pumped out and stored in drums before work resumes. Any cuts that are created
for the purpose of the project will be graded to prevent potential run-off water
contamination. Run-off, which is contained within the bermed area, may contain
significant levels of contamination; it will be pumped into drums and disposed of
properly.
Sediments which may or may not contain contaminated material will also be
contained on site. Disposal of sediments will require approval by the COR.
D3.0 WASTE DISPOSAL
Solid waste will be removed from the site and disposed of at a facility approved by
regulatory agencies. Contaminated soil, tank, piping, and other contaminated
materials will be properly stockpiled and covered on site. Other potentially
hazardous waste including rinsate will be placed in holding tank or drums and
properly labeled. CKY will insure that the transportation, storage, treatment, and
disposal of all hazardous material are in compliance with federal, State, and local
laws and regulations. Raw sewage generated on site by construction activities will
be disposed by using an approved service contractor on a regular schedule. For
. hazardous wastes that are generated on site and require offsite disposal, the
following information will be gathered for the COR:
D-3
