8'. MONITORING PLAN: (CONTINUED)
These procedures along with emergency telephone numbers will be posted in the
Owners office.
The City of Dodi shall be responsible for contacting the local Environmental
Health, Fire Department and a local petroleum maintenance contractor if a leak is
confirmed. Hazardous materials shall be cleaned up in a timely manner or as
required by Envirarnnental Health or Fire Departments.
9. METHOD FOR OVERFILZ+/SPILL PROTECTION AND CLEAN UP:
a. GASO=/DIESEL TANK
1. Gauges: gator is to control delivery and gauge tank prior to receiving
fuel load to assure adequate capacity is available for entire delivery.
Driver is to remain in attendance with owners maintenance supervisor during
delivery to monitor the operation.
2. Overfill Protection: The Emoo-Wheaton Automatic Overfill Protea-tion System
will eliminate the possibility of overfill occurring when the product reaches
the pre-determined level on the sensing tube. The valve automatically closes
shut with enough roan for the delivery truck operator to drain the product
remaining in the hose into the tank. In the event that this occurs, the
following actions will be taken as described below:
3. Ball float system: The ball float valve system installed with the tank
as a back-up to prevent the possiblity of overfilling to occur. If the tank
is filled to the ball float level, the petroleum product delivery will be cut
to 3 gallons per minute alerting the delivery driver of a potential overfill
condition. In the event that this occurs, the following actions will be
taken as described below:
a. The delivery truck k operator shall turn off the petroleum product supply
at the truck, leaving the hose fully connected to the tank fill pipe and
the truck.
b. The small amount of petroleum product remaining in the hose shall be
drained back into the tank. The delivery truck operator shall partially
open the two-stage reset arm to allow the product to drain. He then
resets the system for normal operation.
c. The hose shall be disconnected fracâ–º the fill pipe only when it has fully
drained. In the event that spillage occurs upon hose disconnection, the
remaining small amount of petroleum product will be caught in a 10 gallon
capacity leakproof container (C'NI) . The product in the spill container
will then be drained into the tank by opening a manually operated valve
located in the spill container.
