.
K•
PMOLEM ASSESSMENT FET'=
INCLULANG WARNEiLY MONNNi rIN0 RUORC
[t 1399 East Yo7emf a Avenue.Mantes,Caldornm
s On April 23, 1991, water samples were collected from the three on site
monitoring wells and submitted to a state-certified laboratory for analysis of
BTEX, EDS, EDC, and TPH, as gasoline. Water levels in all three on site wells
j were measured and recorded.
On May 28, 1991, water levels in the three on site wells were measured and
recorded.
1! F
• On June 20, 1991,monitoring wells MW-1 B, MW-4, and MW-5 were installed on
j the site. Monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-5 were drilled as soil borings and
completed as 4-inch-diameter wells to a depth of 35 feet below grade. MW-16
was constructed as a 6-inch-diameter well by over-coring former well MW-1R.
The-wefts were developed using a wire line operated surge block and 5-foot
stainless steel bailer.
Soil samples were obtained from borings MW 4 and MW-5 at 5-foot intervals.
• Soil samples were classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System
(USCS) and a log of each soil boring was generated.
Soil samples recovered from the borings were screened for the presence of
volatile organic compounds with a hNu photoionizatien detector (PID) and the
' highest PID reading from each sample was recorded on the soil boring logs.
Drill cuttings were placed on and covered by plastic sheeting.
Based on the results of classitication and PID screening, samples from each
boring were placed under a chain-of-custody, secured in a sealed ice chest
using appropriate preservation methods and submitted to a state-certified
laboratory for analysis.
Soil samples submitted for analysis were tested for BTEX, EDB, EDC, and TAH,
as gasoline.
!
• The wells were developed by purging approximately three well volumes by use
of dedicated disposable bailers. Data on water levels and water quality from
E each well was recorded. Purged water was contained in DOT-approved 55-
r1
gallon drums.
• On June 26, 1991, a water sample was collected from MW-5 for analysis of total
fecal and coliform, as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health
{ Services, Division of Environmental Health.
I
