KLEIN FELDER
analytical laboratory for chemical analyses. The samples will be analyzed on a standard 10-
working day tum-around time (TAT) unless an expedited TAT is requested at an additional
charge. A single composite soil samples will be submitted for the following analyses:
• Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to Gasoline [TPH-G] by EPA
Method 8015M
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes [BTEX] by E PA Method 8260B
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as reference I to Diesel and Motor Oil [TPH-
D/MO] by EPA Method 8015NV3015
• Total Lead by EPA Methods
Task 4 —Reporting
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results, a report of findings will
be prepared for client and agency review. The report will include;
• A description of the field activities, observations, and protocols;
• Lithologic logs;
• Tabulated results of soil and groundwater samples with copies of certified results;
• A graphical representation of soil and groundwater sampling locations;
• Description and documentation of QA/QC procedures employed for field and laboratory
work; and
• Kleinfelder's conclusions and recommendations basedn the data acquired.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
This proposal and the attached cost estimate are based on the following assumptions and
responsibilities:
➢ This proposal will be adequate to obtain authorization for said services from SJC/MVCD. If
an additional work plan is necessary, additional charge for work plan preparation will be
incurred.
➢ Adequate workspace and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to collect samples
at the proposed locations. If the equipment canno be positioned, alternative sampling
methods should be investigated.
➢ Kleinfelder assumes the field work can be conducted in approximately five days. If more than
five days are required, additional costs may be incurred
➢ This proposal is based on the presumption that the client will clearly mark utilities and will
provide any and all available survey maps or other data to determine the location of existing
structures, underground utilities and services. SJC/MVCD should be aware that penetrating
the site's surface is inherently risky. It is impossible to determine with certainty the precise
location of all structures, which may be buried intkte ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not
adequate to compensate for both the performance of t`1te services and the assumption of risk
of damage to such structures.
