y Numv,
02 December 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0106
Page 2 of 7
In general four common AOP's are used in industry to remediate hydrocarbons in soil and ground
water: hydrogen peroxide,ozone,RegenOx and Fenton's regent.A solution of 5%RegenOxTM has
been chosen for the site based on current site conditions, contaminant concentrations and its
documented ability to rapidly remove hydrocarbons in soil and ground water
(http://www.regenesis.com/resources/casestudies/regenox.aspx .
RegenOxTM is a powerful, yet non-corrosive, low temperature, low pressure chemical oxidation
process. It is applied as a two-part formula which includes an alkaline oxidant and liquid activator.
When the two products are combined,they produce a cascade of chemical reactions that have been
documented to effectively destroy a wide range of contaminants. The product is also much less
exothermic as compared to Fenton's reagent and hydrogen peroxide oxidants,making it more safe
to use both in the field and around underground structures and utilities.Further detailed information
can be found in the product brochure,which has been included in Appendix E.
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
AG recommends the performance of CO pilot test utilizing a 5%solution of RegenOx,which
wil applied to groundwater via edicate injection points.Additionally AGE proposes to install one
shallow screened ground water observation well adjacent to the location of boring B-18 (Figure 2).
The following is a detailed breakdown of the scope of work to be performed before and during the
ISCO pilot test:
• Permitting and pre-field work activities;
• Preliminary aquifer volume testing;
• Drilling and soil sample collection;
• Background monitoring and sampling;
• ISCO pilot test injection;
• ISCO pilot test monitoring and sampling;
• Report Preparation.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
