The excavation is expected to cover an
area of about 8 by 10 feet and reach a depth of about 13 feet. This suggests a
total excavation volume of about 38 cubic yards. The groundwater surface at
F this site occurs about 7 to 9 feet below grade.
5.1 Preliminary Site Work
Preliminary work will consist of obtaining.a permits to install the replacement
monitoring well from the San Joaquin County EHD. Prior to commencing
work, the area will be marked for Underground Seirvice Alert (USA) to verify
no buried utilities will be disturbed. The existing monitoring well, MW-1 will
be destroyed by filling it with bentonite clay. Most'of the well will ultimately
be removed during the course of the excavation. The lowest, approximately 7
feet of the well will remain in place."
5.2 UST Pit Excavation
A backhoe owned and operated by Del-Tech Geotechnical Services will be use
to excavate the original UST pit. The expected 'surface of the pit will be
about 8 by 10 feet, and about 12 to 13 feet deep.
