3. Ion Exchange Equipment:
IDI' s report on their recommended process changes
is almost complete and should be available by week
of Feb. 16. This will allow the installation of
their equipment to proceed.
4. Force Main To Diverting Canal:
Test have been conducted on that portion of the
force main that was "out of spec" and it had held
50 psi for 2 hrs as required by the spec. In
addition, approximately 15 psi was held overnight.
Both levels are well above the operating pressure
of the main. As a result of this test the pipe
will be left in the ground and the force main will
be completed using this type of pipe.
II . Phase III - Ground Water Assessment.
A. Additional Wells:
Additional test wells are in place. Flow test and
samples have been taken. Results will be part of the
first quarter monitoring report.
B. Fourth Quarter Results:
Problems with the water analyzes have delayed this
report. This should be resolved and the results
available in the near future.
C. Phase III Report:
This should be ready about the middle of March.
III. Work Plan
Revised work plan was submitted, by letter, to J. Jones
on January 9, 1987.
IV. Surface Water Sample - South Yard
After review of south yard on Jan. 27, 1987 it was
decided not to take any more samples until we have made
a more determined effort to clean up south yard. This
will involve removal of treated bunkers, clean up of
dust, dirt, lumber chip, etc. that have accumulated over
the years under lumber stacks. We expect to have this
done by March 1 , 1987. This would allow us to get
another run off sample this spring.
