One deep boring will be taken from a specified location on each
berm on the four sides of the retention pond. Samples will be
collected on two foot centers starting at the top of the berm to
a depth of ten feet. Samples will then be collected on five foot
centers from the ten foot depth until the groundwater table is
intercepted. Groundwater levels will be estimated from
information available from the existing monitor wells. Total
depth of these borings is anticipated to be in the range of 55 to
70 feet.
A series of intermediate borings will be made in the area located
between the toe of the berm on the north side of the retention
pond and the north boundary fence. Nine of the borings will be
made on 50 foot intervals as specified on the drawing in the RFP.
Three of those nine boring locations will be selected for an
additional two borings each, spaced on five foot centers to the M
north and south of the selected borehole location. Soil samples
will be collected every two feet from the land surface to a depth
of 10 feet.
c
3
rt
z
Once access to the pond bottom is available, the final four deep
borings will be made at the basin locations previously specified
for the shallow soil samples. The soil samples will be collected
on five foot centers, starting at a depth of 5 feet and
continuing until the groundwater table is intercepted. The
anticipated depth of these boreholes is approximately 45 feet.
GMf
12
