All samples will be handled in accordance with the procedures <br /> outlined in the section entitled SAMPLE COLLECTION, STORAGE AND <br /> ANALYSIS . <br /> DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br /> All tools and equipment will be decontaminated on a specified <br /> basis to ensure that no cross-contamination takes place between <br /> samples, and to minimize any potential employee exposures to <br /> contaminated material. <br /> All sampling tools will be decontaminated between each sample, <br /> and hollow stem auger flight will be decontaminated between each <br /> borehole. The decontamination procedure will be as follows: <br /> 1. Rinse tool in fresh water and scrub with a stiff brush <br /> to remove residual solid material <br /> 2 . Scrub tool in solution of phosphate free soap (eg. <br /> Alconox) using a separate stiff brush <br /> 3 . Rinse tool in potable water <br /> 4 . Rinse tool with high-pressure hot water (steam jenny) <br /> 5 . Rinse tool in deionized water <br /> 6 . Air dry <br /> All rinsate will be collected and drummed for disposal unless <br /> otherwise directed by MCTC or Black & Veatch. <br /> GMI <br /> 13 <br />
