Personal decontamination procedures will follow typical protocol
for decontamination on sites requiring EPA recommended personal
protection Level D, and will focus on good hygiene procedures to
minimize skin contact with contaminated material.
All vehicles will be decontaminated before leaving the site as
per the standard decontamination procedures specified by MCTC.
POTENTIAL PROBLEMS AND COMMENTS
The greatest potential problems which could threaten the proposed
schedule are:
1. Failure or delay in the dewatering program, including
the failure of the residual sludge or mud to dry to a
level of competency capable of supporting the weight of
the drill rig, or in the first phase, the weight of the
sampling team.
2 . Delays caused by the analytical laboratory scheduling.
The failure to achieve access is the most realistic problem that
we face. If the material has not dried out enough to allow
access directly, then other solutions will be considered. We
have overcome similar problems in the past through the use of
temporary access platforms constructed of heavy timbers. We have
also amended some sites with gravels and fill materials which
accelerated the drying process.
GMI
14
