Com
Fiber Glass Systems I KAY P oductionSolutions
June 27, 2018
Site Location:
ARP Mini Mart
25775 Patterson Pass Road
Tracy, CA 95377.
Subject: Spacing Variance
It has been brought to our attention that the Tracy site did not maintain the recommended spacing
instructions per our recommended installation practices. The spacing here is 1" at its closest point.
The main objective is to make sure the two pieces do not come into contact with one another
during service. To ensure that no contact occurs apiece of 1/2" or thicker rubber needs to be
placed over the top of the lower pipe in the assembly. The bedding of the pipe must be done
properly and special attention must be paid to make sure that the padding remains in place during
the backfill process.
This same procedure will need to be followed for any clamshell fittings that does not maintain
crossover spacing. The lower clamshell in the assembly will need to have apiece of 1/2" or thicker
rubber over the top of the entire diameter of the fitting. It is very important that the entire clamshell
be covered with the padding mentioned above. Then, bedding of the clamshell assembly must be
done properly while making sure that the padding remains intact while backfill is completed.
Please follow this procedure for any crossover of pipe or fittings that does not maintain at least 1"
of separation between the two pieces. The workmanship and execution of above is solely the
responsibility of the contractor.
Respectfully yours,
Mrs. Lisa Btassingame
Western Regional Manager- Fuel Handling
T 210-842-5777 401 McCarthur Drive
F 210-247-0598 Leander, Tx. 78641
Lisa.Blassingame@nov.com
