WORK
SUMMARY
Technical review staff musbe able to understand what corrective action work was performed,
and be able to match the charges on the invoice to the work descriptions A narrative work
description, including dates, helps facilitate the review process. Attachment 1 provides an
example of an adequate narrative work description. Copies of approved and/or implemented
workplans are equally important "narrative" sources which help in the review process
One narrative source comes from your environmental consultants executive sunimary.
Review this summary for it's content. Does it detail what activities have been conducted, and
can you match the activities to the associated invoice? Claimants should not assume that the
Fund has an inventory of work activities at their site.
C. USE OUR RECOMMENDED MINIMUM INVOICE COST BREAKDOWN
It is suggested that corrective action for which reimbursement is sought be described on
separate sheets of paper using the enclosed RECOMMENDED MINIMUM INVOICE COST
BREAKDOWN (Attachment 2). Specifically, try to correlate each spreadsheet
invoice/amount with a particular activity. One troublesome reimbursement category is in the
area of personnel and professional labor. Uncertainty arises when there are no task
descriptions on invoices associated with personnel and labor charges.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please call Jim Munch at (916) 227-4430 or
Allan Patton at (916) 2274308.
Sincerely,
rl ox/
Dave Deaner, Manager
Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund
