Morita Brothers Service Stat
N
2 NW"• January 23, 1992
and associated product pipelines. The tanks were removed under San Joaquin County
Department of Health Services Permit No. 1061.
Crisp Construction contracted with Earth Systems Environmental to provide an
environmental technician to collect soil samples at the direction of Ms. Eleanor
Ratcliff with the San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health Services.
3.0 SOIL SAMPLING
Three soil samples (PN -1, PS -2, and PC -3) were collected from beneath the
former product pipeline at a depth of 3 feet below surface grade (Figure 2). PN -1 and
PC -3 were also positioned to be adjacent to the dispensers on the dispenser island.
Two soil samples (TK -1N and TK -1S) were collected from beneath the north and south
ends of the former 5,000 gallon underground leaded gasoline storage tank at a depth
of 12 feet below the surface grade, respectively. Two soil samples (TK -2N and TK -2S)
were collected from beneath the north and south ends of the former 5,000 gallon
underground unleaded gasoline storage tank at a depth of 12 feet below the surface
grade, respectively. Two soil samples (TK -3N and TK -3S) were collected from beneath
the north and south ends of the former 2,000 gallon underground premium unleaded
gasoline storage tank at a depth of 12 feet below the surface grade, respectively. One
soil sample (TK -4) was collected from beneath the former 500 gallon underground
waste oil tank at a depth of 9 feet below surface grade. Two soil samples (SPE -1 and
SPE -2) were collected from within the eastern excavation stockpile at 3 feet below the
surface of the stockpile. One soil sample (SPW) was collected from within the western
excavation stockpile at 3 feet below the surface of the stockpile. The samples were
collected from a backhoe bucket immediately after soil excavation and stored in a 2"
brass tube, sealed with a teflon liner and end cap. The samples were then labeled,
handled and transported according to the United States Environmental Protection
Agency (USEPA) protocol to a State of California Department of Health Services
(DOHS) certified laboratory. Sample identification and chain -of -custody procedures
were utilized for the samples to ensure sample integrity and to document sample
possession from the time of collection to its ultimate destination. The sample label
identified the job number, sampler, date and time of collection and sample number
unique to the sample.
EB -8101-1 9201-EO81.RPT
