The soil
samples were analyzed for total purgeable hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline using the
California DOHS Luft Method for gasoline, and for the gasoline constituent volatile
aromatics, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) using USEPA Test
Method 8020. The eight soil samples from beneath the 5,000 gallon underground
leaded gasoline storage tank, from beneath the product pipelines and from the two
excavation stockpiles were submitted to B C Laboratories in Bakersfield, a State of
California Department of Health Services (DOHS) certified laboratory. The soil
samples were analyzed for total purgeable hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline using the
California DOHS Luft Method for gasoline, for the gasoline constituent volatile
aromatics, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) using USEPA Test
Method 8020, for EDB using USEPA Test Method 504, and for total lead using SW 6010.
The soil sample from beneath the waste oil tank was submitted to B C Laboratories
were it was analyzed for the presence of total purgeable hydrocarbons (TPH) as both
gasoline and diesel using the California DOHS Luft Method for gasoline and diesel, for
f the fuel constituent volatile aromatics, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total
xylenes (BTEX) using USEPA Test Method 8020, halogenated hydrocarbons using
USEPA Test Method 8010, for EDB using USEPA Test Method 504, for PCBs using USEPA
Test Method 8080, for total petroleum hydrocarbons as oil and grease using USEPA
Test Method 418.1, and for CAM Title 22 metals. Appendix A presents copies of the
analytical report and chain -of -custody sheet.
5.0 RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLING
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline were detected in sample PN -1
at 3 feet beneath the north end of the product pipelines and adjacent to the northern
EB -8101-1 9201-EOSI.RPT
