(GTI) on your behalf.
The SCM included a chronology of the site investigation, geological data
acquired by various consultants for the site, GTI's interpretational geological
model of the site in the form of cross sections, a description of the contaminant
distribution in soil and groundwater, an analysis of dissolved contaminant
distribution with an estimate of the dissolved contaminant mass, the results,of a
previous sensitive receptor survey, a dissolved plume model that attributes
contaminant concentration trends in one area to plume migration from another
site, and a recommendation for site closure as a low risk site.
The geological model presented in the SCM consists of fine-grained soil from
near surface grade to 24 feet below surface grade (bsg), sand from 24 feet bsg
to 27 feet bsg, fine-grained soil from 27 feet bsg to 65 feet bsg, and sand of
variable thickness from 65 feet bsg to 75 feet bsg (all depths approximate as
estimated by the EHD from cross section A-A' in the SCM).
The SCM hydrogeological model is based on well completion or screen depths,
and is divided into zones designated `shallow wells', 'intermediate wells' and
`deep wells'. The predominant groundwater flow direction in the shallow wells
zone was determined to vary from northeast to southeast, the flow direction in
the intermediate wells zone was determined to vary from northeastward to east-
southeastward, and the flow direction in the deep wells zone was determined to
be generally southeastward.
Soil impacted by the unauthorized release (UAR) of fuel hydrocarbons from the
former underground storage tank (UST) system was presented as having been
