The annular space above the 2112 sand was then
nilcd an additional foot with clean 0130 L.onestar Industries sand. This was
done to prevent benioritc, pellets from leaching into the slotted screen. The
screen and sand filter pack size were selected in the field based on the geologic
conditions encountered in each boring.
o A 3-foot bentonite plug was placed above the sand pack to provic'e a seal against
cement/bentonite grout infiltration.
- o The remaining annular space was filled with cement/bentonite grout to the
surface. The grout was inplaced under pressure through 1.25-inch diameter
tremmie pipe.
o Each well was secured inside a locking well cover.
WATER LEVEL MEASUREMENTS
Water level measurements were made in three monitoring wells located at the site.
Measurement protocol was as follows:
1. The water level probe was decontaminated in a trisodium phosphate wash,
• followed by a distilled water rinse, prior to use in each well.
2. Water level measurements were made using a conductivity based water level
indicator. Depth-to-water was measured from the north rim of the PVC well
casing to the nearest 0.01 foot.
FIS-91-62
Copyright 1991 Kleinfelder, Inc.
