2.0 INTRODUCTION
SOIL BORING PLAN
Del Tech Geotechnical Support (DEL TECH) has been retained by Independent Trucking to
prepare and implement this workplan. This workplan is a supplement to the previous exploratory
work that has been conducted at the site located at 1145 West Charter Way, Stockton, California.
2.1 Proposed Investigative Actions
This workplan is being presented as a step towards the goal of achieving the extent of the soil
contamination present at the site. Specifically, this workplan addresses the installation of three
soil borings that will be drilled with a hollow stem drill rig in the immediate area north and south
of the septic tanks location. Additionally there will be two hand borings completed to
approximately 20 feet in the center of the excavated area and a angular boring along the building
were the tank resides. Upon reviewing the previous activities completed, it became evident that
these borings are needed to define the extent of the soil contamination and to determine the
feasibility of an excavation for site cleanup. There is currently no geologic or chemical data on
the areas to the west side of the tank. The proposed deep borings are to determine the extent of
soils contamination if any and the geology of the subsurface that is present on the west side of
the tank. The overall depth of these borings is expected to be about 35 feet or to the capillary
fringe. In addition, we are also proposing the completion of at least two shallow hand borings
one of them (15 feet) to the west of the tank and another one along the building at a 45 degree
angle to determine if product has migrated under the adjacent building. These borings will be
completed with hand augers to the maximum depth possible.
3
