r Subsurface Environmental Investigation September 21, 1988
Abandoned Lerner Service Station, Lodi, California AGS 38055-1
 r
The site is underlain by very gently dipping Quaternary fluvial
sediments consisting mainly of silt and sand. The topographic
(a surface in the area is Slightly irregular with a general westward
slope. The nearest surface water is the Mokelumne River, which
is approximately 2,500 feet north of the site. On August 22,
1988, the static ground-water level was 40.25 feet below grade,
and on August 29, 1988, it wa .3feetlow grade. Ground
water is inferred to have a south-southwesterly flow direction
based on Applied GeoSystems knowledge of other sites in the
vicinity. The water level and flow direction are subject to
seasonal variations with the rise and fall of the :iokelumne River
tml '
- and local pumping rates.
PROXIMITY TO WELLS AND UTILITIES
ki
According to the Department of Public Works in Lodi, the closest
` municipal water-supply well is approximately 5,600 feet southwest
H of the site. This well is known as well No. 4 and is located nn
the southeast corner of Main and Locust Streets. The well is
maintained by the City of Lodi. According to conversations with
personnel of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board,
Central Valley Region, private water-supply wells may be located
on the Grape Festiva] :.0rounds immediately south of the site. The
surface locations and whether or not the .wells are currently
4
,, w Applied GOOSYSMMS
