ii
o The remaining annular space will be filled to the ground
surface with a bentonite/cement grout. The grout will
be placed in the annular space using the tremmie method
of placement, and will be allowed to set for 24 hours
prior to well development.
o Wells will be completed at grade with a locking cover
and Christie box, which will be grouted in place at the
ground surface to complete installation.
o The elevation of the top of the well casing will be
surveyed to the nearest 0.01 foot by a licensed surveyor.
o Development water, decontamination rinse dater, and
cuttings will be collected and contained in a baker tank
or by other appropriate means for onsite treatment
through biodegradation or other recognized treatment
process.
The proposed well construction details of the monitoring wells
are shown in Figure 3,
2.2.5 Well beveiopmgp_t
The purpose of well development is two-fold: to repair
formation damage caused by drilling so that natural hydraulic
properties are restored, and to develop better flow of water to
the well. Wells will be developed using a combination of bailing,
swabbing, and pumping with a centrifugal or submersible pump until
sediment fee water is pumped from the well.
2.2.6 Water Level Measuremt
Static water level measurements for each monitoring well, new
and existing, will be taken and ceferenced to the top of the
casing. The wetted tape method or electric sounder method will be
used to take the measurement to the nearest 0.01 foot. sounder
cable or tape will be decontaminated before and after each well.
Should floating product be found on the surface of the water table
during the measurement, oil/water indicator pastes or an oil/water
interface probe will be used to determine the location of the water
table: and the depth of the floating product.
2.2.7 Grgund Water Sample Col a t'o
Prior to ground water sampling, specific conductance,
temperature and pH will be measured. A pH meter with a combination
gel-filled electrode or equivalent, will be used for field pH
- determinations. A combination electrical conductivity-temperature
or equivalent measuring devices will be used for determination of
conductivity and temperature. All instruments will be calibrated
LD01.064
6
