` A FIONAL INFORMATION REQ NTS
CI OF LATHROP WASTEWATER PL T NO. 1
LATHROP, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
1. Please provide the Assessor Parcel Numbers for all properties that will be used for the treatment,
storage, and disposal of wastewater.
2. Provide further information or clarification about the groundwater monitoring wells that exist at
the site, including:
a. Kleinfelder's 15 January 2001 Data Report, Limited Soil and Groundwater Assessment
indicates five wells were installed. However, the well construction details are incomplete for
Well MW-4. In addition, only four wells (MW-1 through MW-4) are presented on Nolte
Associates' Expansion of Land Application Area report Figure 6. Please clarify the existence
of Well MW-5.
b. Clarification of the well construction details, well names, and information on which wells
were being monitored at the presently used evaporation/percolation beds is required. Please
provide a site map that shows all the monitoring wells at the existing facility. Please describe
the plans for the existing monitoring wells at the facility.
c. Staff understand that we may not have received the entire body of groundwater analytical data.
Please provide a tabulation of all analytical data collected from all permanent and temporary
groundwater monitoring points. Include a map showing the location of each monitoring point.
3. Further information on the infiltration tests is required. Infiltration of wastewater historically has
been a problem for the City and the soil data presented in the RWD seems to contradict the limited
percolation capacity of the existing wastewater evaporation/percolation beds. The published data
may not be reliable. Please address the following issues:
a. Nolte Associates' Figure 6 shows two locations for the double ring infiltrometer Test P-1.
Please clarify where that test was performed.
b. Results from double ring infiltrometer Test P-1 is unreliable because the water apparently
drained from the outer ring prior to establishing steady state conditions.
c. No percolation tests were performed in Land Application Site No. 1. Because of the
importance of percolation rate, it is prudent to have at least two reliable double ring
infiltrometer tests per land application area. Please perform these tests again and submit the
data.
C wcjmt FiieGtua..wm.on_ww Mljsla eI80,%M.Mc
