CHOW ENGINEERING, INC. • • <br /> 7 May 2001 <br /> during the work, CE personnel believe the work to be unsafe they have the authority to <br /> stop work until their questions are answered to their satisfaction. <br /> 7.0 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) <br /> Based on the information provided by previous site investigations and CE's Site Hazard <br /> Evaluation, the established PPE level during the performance of the work will be Level <br /> "D". Hard Hats, safety shoes and safety glasses, at a minimum, will be worn at all <br /> times on the project site. NO sleeveless shirts or shorts will be allowed in the work <br /> area. For puncture and laceration protection, heavy leather outer gloves, and surgical <br /> type inner gloves shall be worn as a protective barrier. Eating, drinking, and use of all <br /> tobacco products will occur only in designated areas. <br /> CE will establish and maintain a control zone surrounding the work area. All personnel <br /> will thoroughly wash their hands both prior to and following all breaks, meal periods <br /> and lavatory periods. Care will be exercised to prevent touching of any exposed skin <br /> areas with potentially contaminated materials and should this occur, the affected area <br /> will be immediately irrigated with fresh, water and bactericidal soap. Non-disposable <br /> uniform items such as work-boots, tools and equipment shall be thoroughly <br /> decontaminated, if required, prior to leaving the work site. <br /> CE will utilize field investigation and monitoring techniques that may include <br /> instrumentation as well as visual observations to evaluate site conditions with regard to <br /> further possible upgrades of PPE protection levels. <br /> 8.0 Applicable Codes and Regulations <br /> The following sections, where applicable, of the national safety codes and regulatory <br /> standards will apply to CE personnel during the course of this project. <br /> • California Title 8, CCR, General Industry & Construction Safety Orders. <br /> • 29 CFR 1926, Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, US Department of <br /> Labor (OSHA) <br /> • 29 CFR 1910, Hazardous Materials Training, US Department of Labor (OSHA). <br /> • American National Standards Institute — Safety Guidelines (ANSI). <br /> • ANSI Safety Requirements for Construction, (ANSI-A10). <br /> • NGMS Safety Requirements for Site Contractors. <br /> CE and all CE Subcontractors, if any, will comply with the previously mentioned <br /> standards and safety and professional codes, as required, to safely accomplish the <br /> specified work. <br /> Site Specific Safety Plan <br /> General Dynamics(Primex.Inc.) <br /> SWMU 21 and AOC 4 Project 5 <br />
