6ETTLER - RYAN INC.
September 6, 2000 \
I
Mr. David J. Camille Jul
Tosco Marketing Company Irl ' Jul
2000 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 400 /
San Ramon, California 94583
Subject: Work Plan for Groundwater Purging and Disposal
Tosco (Former BP Oil) Station No. 11192
1403 Country Club Boulevard, Stockton, California.
Dear Mr. Camille:
At the request of Tosco Marketing Company (Tosco), Gettler-Ryan Inc. (GR) has prepared
this Work Plan for Groundwater Purging and Disposal at the subject site. On April 11,
2000, Blaine Tech Services Inc. conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling
at the site. During that event, monitoring well MW-3, located adjacent to the former
underground storage tanks (USTs) (Figure 1), reportedly contained methyl tert-butyl ether
(MTBE) at a concentration of 96,000 parts per billion (ppb). In order to remove
hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater, and to reduce concentrations of MTBE in the vicinity
of the former underground storage tanks (USTs), GR proposes the removal of
approximately 5,000 gallons of groundwater from monitoring well MW-3 on a weekly basis.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The subject site is situated on the northwest corner of Country Club Boulevard and Pershing
Avenue, in Stockton, California (Figure 1). Current station facilities include three gasoline
USTs, four dispenser islands, a station building, a carwash and two auto service buildings.
Six groundwater monitoring wells exist on site (MW-1 and MW-3 through MW-7). MW-2
was destroyed when the current USTs were installed. Locations of the pertinent onsite
features are shown on Figure 1.
6747 Sierra Court , Suite J • Dublin , California 94568 ( 925 ) 551 -7555
