24 HOUR CONSTANT RATE PUMP TEST RWIB
In order to determine the aquifer properties of the lower sand (B Zone) a constant rate pump test
will be performed from RW I B The pump will be placed in RW I B and water will be pumped for
24 hours at a rate that will not convert the well from confined to unconfined conditions as prelected
from the earlier step drawdown test
Downhole pressure transducers will be used to collect drawdown information from PZ I A, PZ I B,
PZ2A, PZ2B MW i, RW 1 A, and RW 1 B Depth to water in the other surrounding wells will be
measured periodically with the depth to water meter and recorded The results of the test will be
evaluated by developing both distance drawdown and drawdown over time graphs for the wells
Of particular interest in this test will be the early data, which should show the arrival of the
drawdown cone at each of the wells Also of interest will be the drawdown patterns in the upper
zone These patterns should, if the clay forms a significant aquitard, produce a drawdown cone
centered on MW 1 as the groundwater flows between the two sands
TEST TO DETERMINE TIGHTNESS OF SEALS MW6A, MW6B,
In order to determine if there is commumcation between the two groundwater zones due to the
presence of MW6B, a short test will be performed in MW6A The pump will be placed in MW6A
and water will be pumped from the well at the pump's maximum capacity
Downhole pressure transducers will be used to collect drawdown information from MW6A,
andMW6B
Of particular interest in this test vAll be the timing of the arrival of observable drawdown in
MW6B, which will be indicative of the leakage between the two sands
TEST TO DETERMINE TIGHTNESS OF SEALS MW7A, MW7B
In order to detcnnine of there is communication between the two groundwater zones due to the
presence of MW7B, a short test will be performed in MW7A The pump will be placed in MW&A
and water will be pumped from the well at the pump's maximum capacity
Downhole pressure transducers will be used to collect drawdown information from MW7A,
andM W 7B
Of particular interest in this test will be the timing of the arrival of observable drawdown in
MW7B, which will be indicative of the Ieakage between the two sands
4
Rev Pump Test Plan- 10/11/02
