GRO
FUGRO WEST, INC. _
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 106°me"Lane,suite
Roseville,California 95678678
Tel: (916)782.2110
FAX: (916)786-7830
Shell Service Station
2575 Country Club Boulevard
Stockton, California
On December 7, 1994, a regular-unleaded gasoline release of approximately 8,500 gallons was
reported at the Shell Service Station located at 2575 Country Club Boulevard, Stockton,
California. A total of six wells, four on site and two off site, have been installed to monitor
groundwater. Three of the on-site wells have been adapted for vapor extraction. Vapor
extraction has been performed since December 11, 1994. Two of the wells will be
decommissioned prior to underground storage tank (UST) removal. Separate phase petroleum
hydrocarbons have been removed from wells adjacent to the UST basin on a daily basis since
December 9, 1994.
Soil excavated during removal of the four steel UST and piping will be disposed of at Forward
Landfill in Manteca, Califomia. If soil is stored on site, it will be placed on, and covered by
plastic sheeting to restrict potential hydrocarbon vapor emissions. Over-excavation will not
extend outside the property boundary. Confirmation soil sampling of the excavation and trenches
will be performed. During excavation, ambient air will be monitored on site with a
photoionization detector (PID). Action levels based on PID readings have been established to
reduce any potential impact to air off site. Controls have been designed to reduce vapor
emissions if action levels are reached. In the event groundwater infiltrates the excavation, a
vacuum truck will be on call to evacuate fluids. New double-walled fiberglass tanks will be
installed in the south comer of the site.
94478620.FLT
A member of the Fugro group of companies with offices throughout the world
