STI External Tank Inspection <br /> UPRR—Stockton yard,Stockton,CA TNKO-0295 <br /> June 2019 <br /> anteagroup <br /> ACCESS STRUCTURE <br /> The tank has no access structure to access the top of the tank. A manway is present on the side of the tank but <br /> was not accessed for this inspection. <br /> ASSOCIATED PIPING <br /> The inflow and outflow piping were inspected,and no relevant issues were observed. <br /> SPILL CONTROL DEVICES AND COMPONENTS <br /> Tank spill control devices consist of a story board visual level gauge. The story board gauge was in good <br /> condition. Tank is manually filled by pumping used oil over from the oil water separator. The tank is founded on <br /> a concrete pad acting as a release prevention barrier(RPB). <br /> LIQUID LEVEL GUAGES <br /> The liquid level monitoring system,story board gauge,was inspected and no relevant issues were observed. <br /> 2.4 ULTRASONIC(UT) EXAMINATION <br /> Ultrasonic(UT)thickness measurements did not reveal any significant thickness deviation or variation in <br /> thicknesses.The following calculations were based on the tank being installed in 1978,41 years prior to this <br /> inspection. Nominal thicknesses were based upon UL 142 Standard. <br /> SHELLCOURSE 1 <br /> Nominal thickness of shell: 0.240 Inch <br /> Lowest observed UT thickness reading taken on the shell: 0.185 Inch <br /> Amount of metal loss(corrosion): 0.055 Inch <br /> Years tank has been in service: 41 yrs <br /> Corrosion rate: 0.00134 Inch per year <br /> Remaining shell thickness: 77 % <br /> SHELL COURSE 2 <br /> Nominal thickness of shell: 0.240 Inch <br /> Lowest observed UT thickness reading taken on the shell: 0.204 Inch <br /> Amount of metal loss(corrosion): 0.036 Inch <br /> Years tank has been in service: 41 yrs <br /> Corrosion rate: 0.00087 Inch per year <br /> Remaining shell thickness: 85 % <br /> 2.5 SUITABILITY FOR CONTINUED SERVICE <br /> Based on the formal external inspection completed on 5/15/19 TNKO-0295 is considered to be fit for continued <br /> service as it is presently configured to contain the intended product it currently stores as determined from STI- <br /> SP001 standards. <br /> XINOGEM <br /> 8 usanteagroup.00m <br />
