01 July 2008 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 97-0301 <br /> Page 2 of 8 <br /> • Drilling and installation of groundwater monitoring well MW43 ; <br /> • Drilling and installation of SVE wells VW- 1 , VW-2 and VW-3 ; <br /> • Performance of an 8-hour SVE pilot test; <br /> • Preparation of a report of findings. <br /> Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail. <br /> 2 . 1 . PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site permits will be obtained from the SJCEHD (i.e. drilling/well installation permits), <br /> San Joaquin CountyPublic Works (i.e. encroachmentpermits) and if necessary from the San Joaquin <br /> County Air Pollution Control District (SJCAPCD). In addition, an update to the health and safety <br /> plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance <br /> Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration, U.S . Coast Guard and U. S . Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to <br /> mobilization, all underground trenching areas will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained <br /> through Underground Service Alert. <br /> 22. WELL DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> AGE proposes to advance a single pilot boring (MW- 13) for the installation of one additional ground <br /> water monitoring well southeast of the site (off-site). Well MW43 will be single-completed <br /> approximately 60-70 feet west-southeast of well MW-9, within the middle turn lane on South El <br /> Dorado Street (screened between 20 and 40 feet). The monitoring well location is depicted in <br /> Figure 2. <br /> We1LMW_- U_wilLbe advanced to_approximatelyAOfeet-bsg utilizing aSrucksmounted hollow-stem <br /> auger drill rig (CME-75) equipped with 8 .25 -inch diameter hollow-stem augers. Total depth of the <br /> boringmayvary according to site conditions encountered during drilling. The proposedwell location <br /> is depicted in Figure 2. Well installation procedures are described in Section 3 . 1 ; well completion <br /> details are described in Sections 3 .2. and 3 .3 . _ <br /> II <br /> Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at 10 feet bsg to the total depth of the <br /> pilot boring. Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Public <br /> 1 Health Services (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the jbllowing constituents: total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons quantified by gasoline,kerosene and diesel (TPH-g, TPH-k and TPH-d, respectively), <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. <br />
