EI Dorado , Stockton, CA <br /> Project Status <br /> Dear Mr. Parada: <br /> This is in reference to your form letter�of February 20, 1996 to the Bank of Stockton <br /> regarding UST corrective action and reimbursement. On behalf of the Bank of <br /> Stockton,I would like to inform you of the status of the project. <br /> krr <br /> Project Status Report <br /> Three former USTs were removed in June of 1991 and the soil at the site was found to <br /> be contaminated. The tank pit was over excavated to a depth of about 34 feet below,,.�; <br /> grade and a total of five groundwater .monitoring wells have been installed. : h " <br /> average depth to groundwater is about 40 feet below grade.. The soil has been cleaSed, <br /> up to the satisfaction of the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD (the LOP). There has been a <br /> small though persistent level of benzene in two of the groundwater monitors, however. y' <br /> It had been hoped that the benzene would naturally dissipate or biodegrade, but this <br /> has not occurred. <br /> On September 6, 1995. the Bank of Stockton was issued a directive (copy attached) by <br /> the LOP to submit a Work Plan to conduct a feasibility study to determine the best <br /> method of final remedial action. On September 28, 1995 a Work Plan was submitted to <br /> the LOP and a revised copy was submitted on October 31, 1995. <br /> The LOP approved the Work Plan on November, . 1995.
