EL DORADO
STOCKTON CA 95201
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) is the lead agency
providing the oversight of the investigation and cleanup of releases from underground storage tanks within
San Joaquin County. PHS/EHD has a contract with California State Water Resources Control Board to
conduct an underground storage tank corrective action program. The above referenced site was placed
in the PHS/EHD Local Oversight Program (LOP) in August 1991.
PHS/EHD has completed review of the reports containing site assessment information that indicates
groundwater contamination exists due to a release from the underground storage tank(UST). The UST's
were removed from this site in June 1991 and contaminated soil excavated and disposed of thereafter:
Even though groundwater contaminant concentrations have decreased since tank closure, they remain
above acceptable levels for site certification.
PHS/EHD recommends you conduct a feasibility study in accordance with Article 11, Title 23, Division 3,
Chapter16, CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS. The feasibility study must compare, at a minimum,
three corrective action alternatives to mitigate groundwater degradation currently present at this site.
i
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll at (209)468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Diane M. in on, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
HK:wlift
c: CVRWQCB, Elizabeth Thayer
c: SWRCB, Underground Storage Tank Program
I
f
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
