El Dorado
Stockton, Ca.
San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD)placed this site in the Local
UST Oversight Program (LOP) August 1991 for oversight and clean up activities associated with an unauthorized
release of petroleum from an underground storage tank removed on June 6, 1991.
I
Contaminated soil documented/identified at the time of the tank removal was excavated and relocated to an
appropriate facility for disposal. Soil samples taken in the excavation indicated residual contamination existed and j
that a groundwater investigation was warranted. The groundwater investigation was conducted and it revealed j
groundwater had been impacted. Soil samples collected and analyzed from borings indicate there is residual,
localized contaminated soil near the former tank location.
PHS/EHD has agreed with and issued the necessary permits to complete the corrective action taken. This office has
provided oversight and reviewed reports as required.
PHS/EHD is in receipt of the Work Plan Addendum for Hydrocarbon Impacted Soil Assessment dated June 2, 1994
and has the following comments. The proposed soil boring downgradient of the former tank location and MW#1 4
will provide additional information as to the horizonal extent of contamination in that direction but does not provide
any further remedial action. Be aware that further active corrective action may be required.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter contact Harlin Knoll, REHS, at (209) 468-3442.
