October 8, 1996 - The three monitoring wells were purged and sampled by Del-Tech <br /> Geotechnical Support Services. The results of the laboratory tests for BTEX and <br /> TPHg were below detection limits. Refer to TABLE VI for details <br /> January 28, 1997 - The wells were again sampled and analyzed for BTEX & TPHg. <br /> The results were non-detect. <br /> April 5, 1997 - Wm. J. Hunter & Associates prepared a report covering the results of <br /> all work done to date, and requested site closure. The San Joaquin Co. EHD <br /> responded on June 16, 1997, stating that additional work would be required before <br /> closure could be considered. <br /> June 26, 1997 - The wells were purged and sampled by Del-Tech Geotechnical. <br /> Laboratory analyses included BTEX, (EPA 8020/602,) TPHg (EPA 5030/8015M) <br /> MTBE (EPA 602,) and TEPH (EPA 3510/8015M.) As shown on TABLE VI, all <br /> samples were below detection limits. <br /> August 21, 1997 - WJH submitted a report covering the latest work, together with a <br /> workplan for removing the pump island and additional contaminated soil beneath it. <br /> October 13, 1997 - The San Joaquin County EHD responded to that report, requiring <br /> modifications to the proposed work. <br /> November 6, 1997 - WJH submitted a revised workplan addressing the changes <br /> required by the County EHD. <br /> November 13, 1997 -Approval was received from the County EHD. <br /> WJH obtained bids from qualified contractors, and prepared and submitted a cost pre- <br /> approval package to the State UST Cleanup Fund staff. Approval for that work was <br /> received in January, 1998, but due to heavy rains, prior committments, and <br /> management changes at California Welding Supply, the work was delayed until <br /> August. <br /> DETAILS OF LATEST WORK: <br /> August 21, 1998 - Wm. J. Hunter, RG from Wm. J. Hunter & Associates, arrived on <br /> location at 0850. Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. personel with a backhoe and dump truck <br /> arrived at 0915; backhoe operator was Jamie Thorpe. They removed a portion of the <br /> fence next to the building, vent lines and remaining product lines. The drums <br /> containing soil, which had been stored on and next to the concrete pump island, were <br /> moved to the east side of the property. The pump island was removed and stored <br /> 4 <br />
