The bus and shuttle systems could be combined with appropriate
parking fees to encourage ridership. Project design should include appropriate features
for transit use.
• Reduce on-site worker trips through the use of employee trip reduction plans. These
plans would use incentives to encourage employees to use forms of transportation other
than single-occupant vehicles. Incentives could include preferential parking for
rideshare vehicles or increased parking fees for single-occupant vehicles.
• Include park and ride lots and bus loading areas near the Arch-Airport Road/State Route
99 interchange and near the proposed commercial and industrial development.
No feasible mitigation measures exist to reduce emissions from aircraft operations. New aircraft
engines generally produce lower levels of emissions than their older counterparts. This trend is
expected to continue with future engine developments. Therefore, levels of emissions are
expected to continue to decrease as the aircraft fleet is updated or replaced.
G-2 Significant Impact: Increased Ozone Precursor and PM-10 Emissions Under 2015 Project
Phase If Interchancie, With Flyover Rams Conditions (impact AQ-6
Emission increases of ROG and NOx are expected to exceed SJVUAPCD thresholds under
2015 proposed project conditions with flyover ramps.
Statement of Fact
Although no mitigation measures have been identified that will fully mitigate this impact, the
following trip reduction mitigation measures should be implemented to the extent feasible:
• Reduce airline passenger and other airport related vehicle trips through the use of bus
and shuttle systems.
