Finding:
Based upon the analysis in the EIR,the potential significant impact resulting from realignment of
the North Branch of the South Fork of Little Johns Creek is less than significant and mitigation is
not required. The analysis concludes that the realignment would not be apparent to passing
motorists,and that the creek segment to be filled in is currently not publicly visible.
Facts in Support of the Finding:
The potential for impairment of views of the North Branch of the South Fork of Little Johns
Creek is discussed in Section III.B of the EIR. The creek realignment would not affect the course
of the first 1,000-foot segment of the creek fronting Austin Road, and would not be apparent to
passing motorists. The creek segment to be filled is currently not publicly visible,and the
realigned portion of the creek would be contained within the new perimeter fence.
3. Community Services and Utilities
a.Extension of the Number of Years that Vehicles Travel to and from the Site
Potential Significant Impact(C.1):
S
The proposed project would extend the number of years the current number of vehicles travel to
and from the site,thus increasing the need for highway and traffic patrol and accident response.
Finding:
Based upon the analysis in the EIR,the potential significant impact resulting from continued
vehicle traffic is less than significant and mitigation is not required. The analysis concludes that
additional project traffic would not be a significant increase over existing truck traffic and
therefore would not have a significant on police services and accident response.
Facts in Support of the Finding:
The potential for additional traffic and police service demand is discussed in Section III.0 of the
EIR. At the outset,project traffic would remain essentially the same as under current conditions.
As waste volumes increase,related truck traffic would increase,and additional truck traffic may
be generated by tankers hauling leachate to a wastewater treatment facility and/or trucks
importing soil. None of these would be a substantial increase over existing truck traffic and
therefore would not be expected to significantly affect City, County,or state police services.
b. Continued Demand for County Public Services and Utilities
Potential Significant Impact(C.S):
The proposed project would continue to demand County public services and utilities in the area of
the project.
C)
7
