A
Facts in Support of the Finding:
The potential for decreased level of service at the Austin Road/Mariposa Road intersection is
discussed in Section 1IL1)of the EIR. The Austin Road Landfill Expansion Project is not fully
responsible for the need for a signal at this intersection,but will add more traffic to an already
congested intersection. Therefore,a fair share attributable to the landfill is calculated in the EIR.
b. Cumulative Impact on Level of Service at Austin Road/Mariposa Road Intersection
Potential Significant Impact(D.2):
The project would contribute to the cumulatively significant deterioration of level of service at
E the Austin Road/Mariposa Road intersection.
Finding: ,
Based upon the analysis in the EIR, signalizing the Austin Road/Mariposa Road intersection will
0 make the cumulative decrease in level of service at this intersection less than significant.
j
The following mitigation measure will mitigate these impacts to below a level of significance.
Mitigation Measure (Impact D.2):
Implement Mitigation Measure D.1. This mitigation measure would also mitigate the
project's contribution to cumulative traffic impacts.
i Facts in Support of the Finding:
The potential for cumulative impacts on the level of service at the Austin Road/Mariposa Road
intersection is discussed in Section 11I.13 of the EIR. Signalizing the intersection would mitigate ;
the project's contribution to cumulative impacts as well as direct project impacts. j
5. Cultural Resources
i
a.Potential Cultural Deposits
Potential Significant Impact(E.1):
The Austin Road Landfill Expansion area,with the North Branch of South Fork of Little Johns
Creek running through it, is a potential candidate for locating additional and/or disturbing
subsurface cultural deposits.
Finding:
Based upon the analysis in the EIR,if archaeological resources are discovered during project
construction,suspension of work and appropriate investigation and treatment by a qualified
archaeologist will make the potential impact on archaeological resources less than significant.
i
23
