i
Any potentia(7\'idverse impacts to air quty shall be miti-
gated by Conditions of Approval as imposed by the San Joaquin
County Air Pollution Control District in their Authority To
Construct. No adverse environmental changes or impacts will
occur.
1.4.3 Surface and Groundwater Quality; Hydrology
All storm water is contained within the mine area and used
r' in the processing of aggregates thereby reducing the amount of
ground water required to supplement process water. No signifi-
cant effects to surface and ground water quality have resulted
r- from the existing operation. There are no perennial streams
within the area. Mining will not directly disturb any ephemeral
streams. Mining operations occur approximately 200 feet above
the ground water table.
1.4.4 Biological Resources
As discussed in the Biological Resources section (5.4) ,
various resources will be impacted by theJ
ro 'ect. All of ' these
P
impacts are judged as less than significant. Generally speaking,
a less than significant impact was determined because resource
removal was not significant when compared to the regional re-
source population and/or the impact was temporary and would be
remediated by reclamation to the original land use, often contem-
poraneously.
1.4.5 Noise
Current noise levels are described in section 5. 5. It is
r` readily concluded that current noise does not exceed those 'recom-
mended levels for the site, and that in the absence of an expand-
ed operation, no significant changes in current noise levels can
be anticipated.
i
1.4.6 Traffic and Transportation
The possibility that the proposed project extension would
have an adverse impact upon traffic and transportation was inves-
j tigated in detail.
KRC Aggregate, Inc. proposes to permit for an anticipated
maximum over the life of the quarry for 160 haultrucks per day,
f ; and an average of 75 haultrucks per day. j
. Analysis indicates that roadways serving the quarry are in
good to excellent condition, suitable for significant truck
traffic. No significant impacts or adverse environmental changes
will result from the continued haultruck traffic. See Section
5.6 for additional details on this issue.
fi
4
KRC Aggregate, Inc.
z
3 - April 1, 1994
