SITE AND VICINITY GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS <br /> The subject property is located within an agricultural area of unincorporated San <br /> Joaquin County, southeast of the City of Tracy, California. Figure 1 shows the setting of <br /> the subject property (7.5 Minute United States Geological Survey [USGS] Topographic <br /> Series, VERNAL, California) and prominent features on the subject property are <br /> depicted in the site plan provided as Figure 2. <br /> 2.3. CURRENT USE OF PROPERTY <br /> Five-acres of the property are currently utilized residentially, with the remaining acreage <br /> seasonally utilized agriculturally for the cultivation of row crops (e.g., oats). At the time <br /> of the site reconnaissance, the agricultural field was tilled, dry land. <br /> 3.0. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> Geology and The subject property is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic <br /> Hydrology Province of California, a large, elongate, northwest-trending, <br /> asymmetric structural trough. The Great Valley Province has been <br /> filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic <br /> to Recent, creating a nearly flat-lying alluvial plain that extends from <br /> the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klammath Mountains in <br /> the north. Western and eastern boundaries of this province are <br /> comprised of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, <br /> respectively. Rocks composing the basement complex of the province <br /> have not been completely defined but are believed to be of <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
