You have always been cu igus as to ow we were Wing to provide for# e
b-usloads of people that we would be attracting to mfacility?
This has been a recurring issue of concern with environmental health. Let
me reiterate, we are first and foremost a manufacturing and distribution
facility. The addition of a retail store, although we are excited about It, is
not the primary source of revenue of our business. We hope that people
will stop to visit but it IS NOT THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF OUR
BUSINESS. As a corollary, we also have a website for selling products
retail but we do little to promote the website. In fact It currently is still
displaying our Christmas products.
Our products are very high end specialized products that consequently
sell for a very high price. Our target demographics are women 25-45 yrs
old with a household income of over$75,000/year, It is our observation
that the type of busses that travel Hwy 88 at our location are primarily
"gambler specials" running to an Indian casino in Jackson. The
demographics of the casino do not match our demographic so we are
planning to do nothing to promote our facility to these busses.
In addition to not actively trying to attract busses, we also DO NOT HAVE
BUS PARKING at our facility.
Should busses stop they will of course be welcome and we will not ask
them to leave.' Our public restrooms currently consist of one fixture each
for men and women. The sizing requirement for the septic system is per
fixture, not per person, parking place, by bus, or other metric, The water
usage according to San Joaquin County Health standards has been
factored into the design of the septic system and is adequate.
I
s
M. Why did we scale back the amount of room dedicated to the leach held?
We have not scaled back the avallable land. In fact we have much more
room than required. Chesney Consulting's design, contained In his
December 31, 2002, report requires 1,600 fe of filter bed + 1,280 ftof
conventional leach line = 3,050 ft2,
The final landscaping design has not been completed but provisions have
been made to accommodate the septic system.
On page C1, Grading Plan and Site details, of our plans submitted for
permits we there is a note that reads, "FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL
SYSTEM — SEE PLANS and SPECS. BY CHESNEY CONSULTING
PROJECT NO. NI-S-08-02"The gross unpaved area we have allowed In
Page 8
