Dykxhoorn Property Page 3
- Our Project Number: E07024A
March 8, 2007
In the 1975 photo, the property continues to be used for agricultural purposes. The property
and surrounding areas appear to be relatively unchanged from the previous photo with the
exception of the the irrigation canal which is no longer apparent.
In the 1983 and 1993 photos, the property and surrounding areas appear to be relatively
unchanged from the previous photo.
These photos are included in Appendix C of this report. NOA's ability to interpret the land
uses is limited by the scale and quality of the photos.
2.3 USGS Topographic Maps
The topographic quadrangle depicting the subject property is the U.S. Geological Survey,
Manteca, California, quadrangle map. One 7.5-minute map dated 1999, was obtained from
Microsoft Terraserver.
In the 1999 map the property is depicted as an open field. An irrigation canal is depicted as
_ running through the property and another along the southern boundry line. The property is
depicted as approximately 40 feet above mean sea level. Surrounding land is agriculture with
scattered residences.
This map is included in Appendix C of this report.
2.4 Interviews
An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the
subject property from the property owner or key site manager of the property. An
Environmental Questionnaire and Disclosure Statement was completed by Mr. Dirk Dykxhoorn,
co-owner of the subject property, on February 12, 2007. A copy of the responses has been
included in this report as Appendix E.
In responses to the questionnaire, Mr. Dykxhoorn indicated he has owned the property since
2006. The property is currently an almond orchard, and as far as he knows the property has
always been used for farming. There are no tanks or structures on the property.
3.0 PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION
3. 1 Research Methods
NOA employs a standard practice for review of database information. On a street map
showing the location of the subject property, a circle is drawn one-quarter mile out from the
property boundaries, and street maps or web-based mapping services are then used to
determine address ranges for all streets within the quarter mile. All agency databases
searchable by address are then searched for these address ranges.
NEIL O .
