The purpose of the <br /> ordinances is to minimize the.poteritial for urban agricultural conflicts along the margin between urban <br /> and agricultural lands <br /> The City of Lathrop is approximately 1000 feet south.bf'the project parcel. The project parcel is outside <br /> the Cit of Lathro 's's here of influence. The land use within the city limi f <br /> Y p P ty is or more than one mile south <br /> of the project site is currently agriculture with scattered residences. <br /> i <br /> Letter of Opposition { <br /> One letter of opposition was received regarding this project. The letter states that this area will soon come <br /> under the control of the City of Lathrop and therefore,a waste facility should not be permitted. <br /> Commercial recycling and composting are classified as waste facilities by.. Agricultural waste operations <br /> may be conditionally permitted in the AG-40 zone with an approved Site Approval application. The size <br /> 4 and location of the parcel are well suited for a composting operation. This parcel was underutilized, <br /> fallow, agricultural land. The surrounding land uses are agricultural in nature. There will be one, 160 <br /> square foot office constructed as part of this operation. The subject parcel is neither within the city limits <br /> of Lathrop nor within its Sphere of Influence.
