Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Re: UP-98-0018
Dear Ms. Sullivan:
I am 84 years old and have lived on Harney Lane for 50 years. I have seen a lot of
changes, some good and some bad, but this proposed town of 400 single adults with a
retail store and deli, laundry service, sports complex, post office, wire service, etc, will
have a larger impact on this community and surrounding communities than all of the
prior 50 years combined.
My dear wife of 60 years is scared to death that the Planning Commission will again
approve this town of 400 single adults. She is concerned about the security of our
grandchildren. Will there be background checks on these individuals? Are they child
molesters, are they felons, where do they come from? Who is looking after our children?
How will they control guns and alcohol on and off site? What will they do about increase
in traffic, the overdraft of the water supply and the same faulty sewer system proposed
before?
When you stand back and look at this project and the effect a project of this size will have
on a community it is hard to believe that anyone in public service, who has the
responsibility for the public, as well as their trust, can say this is good for the community
and adopt a"proposed Negative Declaration", and do all of this without a complete EIR.
My wife and I are placing our trust in you that you will give this proposal a good, hard
look and realize this application should be denied.
Sincerely,
l Q
Leroy A.
