Surface and Subsurface Coniination Report—APN: 157-243-18--To creatte 1!lve(5)lot size parcels of
about equal size, each containing at least 7,680 sq. ft., out of a larger 38,531 sq.ft. parcel.
3.0 Identification Of All Past And Current Sources Of Contamination
3.1 Method Of Research: The methods used to research, investigate and to know the
potential above and below ground sources of contamination at the project site has been a 3
site reconnaissance and field search, and research and study of San Joaquin County
Assessor, Recorder,Environmental Health Department, and the Agricultural
Commissioner's Office records.
3.2 Site Reconnaissance And Survey: On June 6, 2004,I conducted a property field
reconnaissance and search to determine if there were above ground fuel storage tanks, oil
drums, kerosene, other petroleum products and/or other possible contaminant receptacles
situate on the subject property that could contribute to contamination.
No vent pipes or depressions were noted that would indicate any underground
tanks existing on the subject property. Also the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services Underground Site Mitigation Database List, dated 01/28/03, binder available in
the San Joaquin County Environmental Department was reviewed and no underground
tanks were listed on the subject property. However, no subsurface excavations were
performed in my reconnaissance and survey of the subject property.
The conditions seen and noted are best described and recorded by the colored
photographs I took and are available for viewing in Appendix I that is attached to and
made an integral part of this report .A total of twenty-one(21) photographs were taken.
The locations the photographs were taken at are denoted by an alphabet letter and
the direction viewed are denoted by an arrow with the sequence in which the photographs
were taken viewed by a number at the end of the arrows and all are shown on the attached
Photograph's Views Schematic Sheet. The photographs in the appendix are correlated to
the schematic sheet by referencing each photograph with an alphabet letter and the
sequence number. The alphabet letter denotes the location the photograph was taken at
and the number indicates the sequence in which the photo was taken.
3.3 Possible Septic Past On-Site Contamination: Existing San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department records of sixteen(16) septic system permit
installations along South Hinkley Avenue were reviewed and are summarized in the
attached"San Joaquin Co. Environmental Health Department Septic Permit Records
Study", which contains permit numbers, dates, addresses, soil type and leach field, pits
and sump system installations information. The records reviewed covered about a twenty-
four(24)year period from May 5, 1955 through February 22, 1979. One (1)of the
records were for making repairs to the existing system. Eight(8)of the records were for
additions to existing system installations and seven(7) records were for entirely new
septic systems. Pit systems were the predominate type of new septic system installations
and historically have served well over the years.
TJS Properties Inc., Stan Nixon,Agent, Stockton, California 95215(Owner)4408 East Fremont Street
(PrnixY Citral 511 Cnnth Hinkley Avnnnr Ctne.ktnn r'.alifnmia 9577 5 4
