• Live Oak searched both databases on May 3, 2017 for any listed sites within
one-quarter mile of the Site. The subject Site was not listed on either database,
and no facilities were identified within one-quarter mile. One facility of note was
identified, however:
• Marley Cooling Tower Company, 150 N. Sinclair Ave. Although this
facility is located approximately 0.4 miles north of the Site, Live Oak was
aware that it has caused considerable contamination and therefore
reviewed available information for it on the Envirostor website. According
to Envirostor, Marley Cooling Tower Company pressure treated wood
beginning in 1943 with a solution of chromium, arsenic, and copper. The (3•`(-35,
former retention pond has been capped to prevent further leaching of
these materials to ground water. The 2014 2"d Semi-Annual Groundwater
Monitoring Report by Dudek (2015) indicates that hexavalent chromium
and total dissolved chromium are present in ground water in a wide area
surrounding this facility. Although no samples were collected from the
immediate vicinity of the Site, based on nearby sample results it appears
likely that ground water beneath the Site could be impacted.
7.2 Environmental Health Department Databases 1,
Live Oak reviewed the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's
• Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste Generators, Underground Storage
Tanks, Aboveground Storage Tanks, Site Mitigation, and Leaking Underground
Storage Tanks lists, dated July 26 2016, for facilities of concern within one-
quarter mile of the Site. The subject Site was not included on the list. Two
facilities were identified within the search radius:
• Vasti Property, 5055 E. Main St., Site Mitigation. Live Oak reviewed
records on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department. At this facility, located adjacent to the southeast of the Site,
a soil investigation was conducted by Neil O. Anderson & Associates in
2005. The investigation addressed former agricultural use of the facility,
a former adjacent underground storage tank, and potential lead in soil as
a result of lead paint. Neil O. Anderson & Associates recommended no
further investigation. This facility is not anticipated to have impacted the
subject Site.
• Kemp Land Co. Subdivision, 5113 E. Main St., Site Mitigation. Live Oak
reviewed records on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department. At this facility, located approximately 600 feet
southeast of the Site, Neil O. Anderson & Associates advanced five soil
borings to a depth of eight feet below ground surface for the purpose of
collecting soil samples to investigate the former location of an
underground storage tank. No constituents of concern were reported by
• the laboratory. This facile is not _anticipated to have impacted the
subject Site.
LOGE 1712 5
