RECLAMATION PLAN—Reed-Clements Pit 2015 <br /> George Reed, Inc. <br /> Page 5 <br /> II. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED MINING OPERATION (continued) <br /> 4. Mine Waste <br /> Sand and Gravel will be processed at the existing processing plant located on the North side of the <br /> Mokelumne River (which currently operates under Waste Discharge Order 93-177 for wash water <br /> discharged to the existing sedimentation and recycling pond). There will be no waste discharge <br /> associated with the excavation under this permit/reclamation plan. All excavated materials will either <br /> be processed or used for reclamation. <br /> D. Size <br /> 1. Total Acreage to be permitted: 88.58 <br /> 2. Total acreage to be disturbed*: ±78 <br /> 3. Total acreage to be reclaimed: ±85 <br /> E. Water Requirements <br /> The only water required for the project is used for dust suppressant at the excavation site and haul <br /> roads during the removal and transporting of sand and gravel to the processing plant. If conditions <br /> necessitate watering, it is obtained from the fresh water pond or well, located at the processing plant. <br /> F. Contaminants <br /> There are no potential contaminants applicable to this project other than soil amendments or fertilizer <br /> used in the walnut orchard. Berms or slopes will control off-site drainage of these potential <br /> contaminants. <br /> G. Waste Water <br /> No wastewater within the project area. <br /> H. Water Impoundments and Diversions <br /> Impoundment or diversion structures will not be constructed within the project area. <br /> I. Ore Processinu <br /> All materials will be processed at the existing processing plant operating under a separate permit. This <br /> project will not increase production at the processing plant. <br /> J. In-Stream Minim <br /> In-stream mining does not apply to this project. <br /> K. Other Information <br /> This project would allow applicant to continue sand and gravel extraction in an area which has had <br /> mining activity for the past 12 years. The processing plant has been permitted for the past 23 years. <br /> There will be no substantial change from the daily operations as they currently exist. <br />
