RECLAMATION PLAN—Reed-Clements Pit 2015
George Reed, Inc.
Page 6
III. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED RECLAMATION
A. Subsequent Use(s)
All disturbed land will be reclaimed back to farming capability; proposed to be walnut orchards with
solid set sprinklers for irrigation. All property owners of possessory interest have been provided a
copy of the proposed project and reclamation plan.
B. Reclamation Schedule
Project is designed in three phases. Reclamation is continuous and concurrent with mining. Orchards
will be planted in ±30 acre increments as excavation allows. Each phase will be totally reclaimed
within two years after mining ceases in each phase. Phases are shown on the Reclamation Plan
attached.
C. Post Minine Topography
Post reclamation topography, drainage, benches, roads, cross sections through slopes, cuts, fills,
original ground, post-mining surface, geologic conditions, reclaimed surface, and other pertinent
features are shown on the attached Reclamation Plan. Slopes will not exceed 2:1, and stabilization
should not be a problem. Slopes will be seeded with resident hybrid erosion control seed mix to
control slope erosion prior to planting of orchard.
I7. Impoundments
No impoundments are proposed for this project.
E. Drainage
Drainage is not a problem for this project. Water is naturally absorbed in the soil and/or controlled by
berms and slopes. During extreme precipitation there may be water standing in the excavated area
which is simply pumped out as necessary to adjacent land near excavation. No water is pumped into or
near the river. Planting resident hybrid erosion control seed mix prior to total reclamation in each
phase will minimize erosion of disturbed land and sedimentation. Planting of walnut trees will occur in
30f acre increments as excavation allows.
F. Disposition of Old Equipment
No permanent structures or buildings are involved in this project. All equipment to be used at the
project site is portable and easily removed from the site upon completion of excavation and
reclamation.
