This information pertains to the <br /> northern portion of APN 173-210-06,which is not part of the Site properties. <br /> ., 5.0 SITE RECONNAISSANCE <br /> 5.1 METHODOLOGY AND LIMITING CONDITIONS <br /> ` A driving reconnaissance of the surrounding area and a walking reconnaissance of the Site were <br /> performed in accordance with the ASTM practice on November 22, 2004. The agricultural fields r 3 1) <br /> comprising most of the site were fallow, with a small amount of vegetative material covering the soil. <br /> Several areas along the southern Site boundary, Mormon Channel, were not visible due to brush and tree <br /> cover. <br /> 5.2 GENERAL SITE SETTING <br /> The project area is located in the Great Valley Geomorphic Province in the central portion of the San <br /> Joaquin Valley. The San Joaquin Valley is a northwest-trending, structural depression, filled with up to <br /> six vertical miles of lithified marine and non-marine sediments, and unlithified non-marine sediments. <br /> Regionally, the lithology of the upper 3,000 feet of sediments is indicative of uplift of the Sierra Nevada <br /> to the east and,to a lesser degree, the Coast Range Mountains to the west. <br /> ILA CONDOR <br />
