L � � October 31, 2005 LNOA Project Number: E05132-A LSmall soil stains were observed in several locations on the subject property. • One domestic well and one septic system are located on the subject property. • Eleven transformers were observed along the subject property boundaries. Approximately half Lof these were not labeled PCB-free. 3.4 Past Off-Site Sources of Contamination LNo above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were identified from past uses of surrounding properties, except for the following: L. A 500-gallon underground storage tank for regular gasoline was reportedly located immediately adjacent to the east of the subject property from 1957 until its removal approximately five years Lago. The tank was removed without a permit. • Two former drug labs were identified within one-quarter mile of the subject property. Five additional hazardous materials incidents and one Local Oversight Program case were identified within one-quarter mile. • Marley Cooling Tower Company,located approximately one-half mile north-northwest of the subject property,has contaminated groundwater in the area with total chromium and hexavalent chromium. Hexavalent chromium has been detected in a monitoring well located in the Main Street roadway directly south of the subject property at 9.5 parts per billion (ppb) and in a domestic well to the south of this at 1.4 ppb. 3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were i identified from current uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following: V • A wooden debris pile,an above-ground storage tank,and a PVC pipe discharging water to the ground were observed on the adjacent property to the east of the subject property. L 4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES L, Agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. No evidence was found, however, to indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately. LUnderground infrastructure may exist on the subject property in the vicinity of the former structures.
