L
LDecember 23, 2005
NOA Project Number. E05150A
3.1.6 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources
The California Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources(DOGGR)Wildcat Map 60615 was
reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. No wells are
V depicted within one-quarter mile of the subject property.
3.1.7 Site Reconnaissance
L
A visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on December 13,2005 by Abigail Racco.
Photographs of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site visit/assessment
checklist is attached to this report as Appendix D.
The subject property was observed to be flat with a depression near its center and was mostly
uncultivated land except for a small walnut orchard. The property lines to the east, south, and north
are defined by Walker Lane, East Main Street and Horner Avenue, respectively. One residence and a
barn were observed at the southwest comer of the property. Several skeletal greenhouse structures were
t. observed on the subject property near the residence. The interiors of the residence and barn were not
inspected. A pipe protruding from the rear of the barn was observed to be continuously discharging
water onto the ground.
A large debris pile, mostly wood and brush, was observed toward the middle of the western boundary
of the property, near the orchard. A small quantity of domestic trash was also observed in the pile.
. Concrete pipe,an empty 55-gallon drum, and agricultural equipment were observed near the middle of
the property. Domestic trash was observed along the property boundaries. A pile of cement or white
powder was observed to the northwest of the barn on the subject property.
V
Several large greenhouse skeletons were observed near the residence. Near the greenhouses were
several open, empty, non-labeled chemical containers, herbicide and pesticide containers, and other
V agricultural equipment. Two drums were observed behind the barn on the subject property; these
drums were inaccessible due to vegetative growth.
LTo the southwest of the barn,NOA observed the possible former location of the underground storage
tank reportedly removed by Mr. Rolleri. This location was based on communications between Mr.
Cafesse and Mr. Rolleri and did not include field verification by Mr. Rolleri. NOA staff believe the
r. actual location of the tank may be south of Mr.Cafesse's suggested location,in an area marked by pieces
of wood forming a rectangle,by a larger soil depression, and by abundant weed growth within the area
suggesting disturbed soils (Figure 11 of Appendix B). A crumpled tank was observed near the center
6 of the property (Figure 8).
I
L
"California Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources,2002,Wildcat Map 606.
10
L "t44
L
