k
6.
December 23,2005
NOA Project Number: E05150A
One set of three pole-mounted transformers was observed along the eastern property boundary. No
blue PCB-free or silver retrofit stickers were observed. The transformers were rusty and appeared old.
No stains were observed on or around the transformers to indicate leakage.
M
` Surrounding properties were surveyed at the time of the site reconnaissance. To the north of the subject
property were single-family residences. To the south and east was agricultural land with rural residences.
To the west was uncultivated agricultural land with farm structures and a rural residence. A domestic
` well was observed on the adjacent property to the west which appeared to be supplying water to the
barn on the subject property. Several 55-gallon waste oil-type drums were observed along the eastern
side of the barn to the immediate west. Minor oil stains were observed in the driveway and the vicinity
6 of the drums to the west
j 3.1.8 Pacific Gas&Electeic
L• Ms. Linda Harkins of Stockton PG&E has stated that the only way to determine the PCB content of
transformers without blue PCB-free or silver retrofit stickers is to have them tested, a service which
PG&E will provide for a charge.tb
I 3.L9 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
L
NOA prepared a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I) on the subject property for Kemp
Land Company concurrently with the preparation of this report. The Phase I identified three additional
sources of contamination not identified by the scope of this investigation:
L The address of 5055 East Main Street appears on the HIST UST database of historical .
underground storage tanks for a 550-gallon regular gasoline tank installed by Victor Rolleri in
1957. Based on investigation conducted for the adjacent property to the west, the tank appears
j to have been located on the subject property and has been discussed above.
• Marley Cooling Tower Company, located approximately one-half mile north-northwest of the
subject property, has contaminated groundwater in the area with total chromium and hexavalent
L chromium. According to Dudek&Associates, hexavalent chromium has been detected in a
monitoring well located in the Main Street roadway directly south of the subject property at 9.5
parts per billion (ppb) and in a domestic well to the south of this at 0.7 ppb during the most
L recent sampling event."
L
`` t6Personal Communication,March 5,2004.
"Dudek&Associates,Inc.,2005,Semi-Annual Groundwater Monitoring and Performance Monitoring,Marley
LCooling Technologies Remedial Wellfield,Stockton,California.
II
L
4
