The third permit, dated 1984,was <br /> for the installation of a new septic system to serve the residence; a previous system was abandoned at <br /> the same time. These permits are included in Appendix F. <br /> L /'J.1.7 Department of'Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources <br /> The California Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR)Wildcat map 611"was <br /> reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. No wells are <br /> ` depicted on or within one-quarter mile of the subject property. <br /> ` rllJ.1.8 Site Reconnaissance <br /> A visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on September 26,2005. Photographs <br /> of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site visit/assessment checklist is <br /> attached to this report as Appendix D. <br /> ✓The subject property was observed to be a flat, rectangular, 30-acre parcel. A residence and a shop <br /> building were observed at the northeast comer of the property. A domestic well was observed to the <br /> ` south of the shop building, and an irrigation well was observed along the eastern property line. The <br /> northern portion of the property was observed to be a fallow field with stakes and wires for grapevines <br /> in place. The southern portion of the property was a vineyard. <br /> Li/An approximately 500-gallon above-ground storage tank (AST)was observed to the south of the shop <br /> building on the subject property. The AST was located on a concrete pad, but no secondary <br /> containment was observed. Three uncapped buckets which appeared to contain waste oil were <br /> observed on the east side of the shop building. Oil stains to concrete were observed in the carport <br /> between the residence and shop building. A small garden area was observed to the south of the shop <br /> Lbuilding. The interiors of the structures were not inspected. <br /> ✓One pole-mounted transformer was observed to the north of the residence on the subject property. <br /> Two pole-mounted transformers were observed on the eastern property line near the irrigation well,and <br /> two pole-mounted transformers were observed along the western property line. All of the transformers <br /> were white and appeared relatively new,but no PCB-free stickers were observed. <br /> Lsurrounding properties were surveyed at the time of the site reconnaissance. To the north of the subject <br /> property was Jahant Road,followed by cattle pasture and a rural residence. To the west was an orchard <br /> and a rural residence. To the east were several rural residences, fallow land, and an orchard. To the <br /> south was fallow land with a rural residence.
