LSeptember 28, 2005 1110A Project Number: E05116A L /3.L9 Pacific Gas&Elecuic Ms. Linda Harkins of Stockton PG&E has stated that the only way to determine the PCB content of transformers without blue PCB-free or silver retrofit stickers is to have them tested, a service which PG&E will provide for a charge.15 /3.2 Past On-Site Sources of Contamination No potential above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from past uses of the site, except for the following: • Based on the historical use of the property as a vineyard,it is likely that agricultural chemicals L have been applied to the subject property. The farmer of the property had a permit to apply paraquat, a highly toxic and persistent compound. L /3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Contamination No above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from current uses of the site, except for the following: • An approximately 500-gallon above-ground storage tank is located on the subject property. This tank is not located within appropriate secondary containment and sits approximately 15 feet from the domestic water well. • Three uncapped buckets which appeared to contain waste oil were observed on the subject property. • Two wells and one septic system are located on the subject property. A former septic system was abandoned in 1984. • Five pole-mounted transformers were observed on or adjacent to the subject property. Though the transformers appeared relatively new,no PCB-free stickers were observed. 3.4 Past Off-Site Sources of Contamination No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were identified from past uses of surrounding properties, except for the following: • Surrounding properties were historically used for agriculture.
